What is Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coating is an advanced protective nano-coating that bonds to your vehicle’s paint, enhancing gloss while protecting against UV damage, stains, and contaminants. Its hydrophobic properties help encapsulate dirt, making your car easier to clean and maintain.

How long does Ceramic Coating last?

Ceramic coating can last anywhere from 2 to 5+ years depending on the product used, how the vehicle is maintained, where vehicle is predominantly stored (indoors or outdoors) and environmental exposure. Premium coatings like CQuartz and BLASK offer long-term durability when properly cared for with regular washing and maintenance.

Does Ceramic Coating prevent scratches and stone chips?

No—ceramic coating does not prevent scratches or stone chips. It provides chemical resistance and light protection against minor swirl marks, but it won’t stop physical damage. For impact protection, Paint Protection Film (PPF) is the recommended solution which we also offer as part of services.

Do I still need to wash my car?

Yes—regular washing is still required. While ceramic coating helps encapsulate dirt and makes cleaning easier, it doesn’t stop your car from getting dirty. Routine washing keeps the coating performing at its best and maintains the high-gloss finish on your vehicle. Automatic/laser washes and coin-operated soap washes are not recommended, as they can degrade the coating and cause damage. Always hand wash using quality, pH-neutral products to maintain the finish and performance.

Do new cars need paint correction before Ceramic Coating?

Yes—most new cars still require paint correction. There is a common misconception that a vehicle is “Brand New”. Even straight from the dealership, vehicles often have swirl marks, light scratches, and handling defects. Paint correction ensures the surface is properly refined before coating, allowing the ceramic to bond correctly and achieve the best possible finish.

Can Ceramic Coating be applied to more than just paint?

Yes—ceramic coating can be applied to multiple surfaces including paint, wheels, glass, plastics, and trim. Each area uses a specific coating designed for that material, providing protection, enhanced appearance, and easier maintenance across the entire vehicle.

How long does the process take?

The process typically takes 1.5–2 days depending on the level of paint correction required and the package selected. More intensive corrections or additional services may require extra time to ensure the best possible result. We always recommend leaving your vehicle overnight at our secure studio to ensure it is properly cured.

How do I maintain the Ceramic Coating?

Maintain your coating with regular hand washing using pH-neutral products. Avoid automatic/laser washes and harsh chemicals, as they can degrade the coating and introduce swirl marks. We recommend washing weekly or fortnightly depending on use and storage to keep the coating performing at its best. We will provide you with a maintenance guide for your specific ceramic coating chosen.

To ensure your warranty remains valid, a ceramic coating maintenance detail is recommended every 12–18 months. This allows us to assess the coating and carry out any required services such as decontamination, removing embedded contaminants, restoring hydrophobic performance, and applying a maintenance topper if needed.
